The
Four Seasons Windows

St. Alcuin Montessori School Gymnasium
Dallas, Texas
Architecture: Roger Brasel, Kailua Kona, Hawaii
4.33' diameter each (1.3 m. dia.)
With the four seasons as the theme for these gymnasium windows, each window represents the season associated with its directional orientation (east: "Spring"; south: "Summer"; west: "Autumn"; north: "Winter"). Color and abstract biological shapes provide the imagery that transforms from Emergence/Germination into Flowering/Birth into Return/Maturation into Introspection/Isolation and back into Emergence/ Germination as the seasonal round continues.
Although the base of these windows are 19.5' (5.9m.) above the gym floor, the stained glass triple-glazed between an exterior glazing of 1/4" (0.64mm) plate glass and a protective interior glazing of 1/4" (0.64mm) Lexan.
